Sommelier's Note
"Produced from old Furmint vines planted between the 1920s and 1970s in the historic Görbe vineyard — documented since 1644 — this wine expresses the profound mineral identity of Tokaj’s volcanic soils. Rhyolite tuff and rhyolite bring a distinctive smoky, stony character that defines the wine’s elegance and tension. Whole-bunch pressing and spontaneous native yeast fermentation preserve purity and site expression, while extended ageing on full and fine lees builds texture, depth, and layered complexity. Notes of citrus, orchard fruit, flint, and subtle spice unfold alongside delicate savoury nuances from lees contact. Unfined and minimally filtered, the wine retains remarkable energy and authenticity, finishing long, saline, and intensely mineral with exceptional precision."
